C’est bientôt noël... Si vous êtes gourmands voici quelques recettes typiquement britanniques que vous pouvez réaliser pendant les vacances.


ENOY YOUR MEAL !!


GINGERBREAD MEN


INGREDIENTS


350g plain flour


1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda


2 teaspoon ground ginger (= gingembre en poudre)


1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (= cannelle)


125g butter


175g light soft brown sugar (vergeoise ou sucre brun)


1 egg


4 tablespoons golden syrup (or honey)

1- MIX together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger and cinnamon and POUR into the bowl of a food processor. ADD the butter and BLEND until the mix LOOKS like breadcrumbs. STIR in the sugar.


2- Lightly BEAT the egg and golden syrup together, ADD to the food proceesor and MIX until the mixture CLUMPS together. TIP the dough out. KNEAD briefly until smooth, WRAP in clingfilm (= papier cellofrais) and LEAVE in the fridge for 15 minutes.


3- PREHEAT the oven to 180°. LINE two baking tray with greaseproof paper (= papier sulfurisé ou papier cuisson).


4- ROLL the dough out to a 0.5cm thickness on a lightly floured surface. . USING cutters (= emporte pièce) or a knife, CUT out the gingerbread men shapes and PLACE on the baking tray, LEAVING a gap between them.


5- BAKE for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. LEAVE on a tray for 15/ 20 minutes to COOL. When cooled, DECORATE your gingerbread men.


 


CHEWY CHOCOLATE BROWNIES


INGREDIENTS


75g plain flour


175g brown sugar


25g cocoa powder


1 teaspoon of salt


110g butter (melted)


2 eggs


5ml vanilla flavour


75g hazelnuts (= noisettes)


1- PREHEAT the oven to 180°.


2- MIX the flour, sugar, cocoa powder and salt together.


3- ADD the beaten eggs, melted butter, vanilla flavour. When the mixture is smooth, ADD the hazelnuts.


4- GREASE and FLOUR a baking dish and POUR the mixture.


5- BAKE for 25 minutes.


6- SERVE warm with vanilla ice cream.
